New Thai FM endorsed
Tej Bunnag, widely considered a “professional choice”, has officially been nominated new Thai foreign minister today, just in time for the border talks with Cambodia next Monday, according to Bangkok Post, ABC Radio Australia. (See also The Earth Times, Agence France Press)
“The king has endorsed the appointment of Tej Bunnag as foreign minister,” the royal command stated.
British-educated, the 64-year-old is a career diplomat and has been working as an royal advisor since he retired in 2004. (Read his CV)
Mr. Tharit Charungvat, Director-General of the Department of Information and Foreign Ministry Spokesman, also made a statement to the press today.
