Thailand suggests three alternatives in border dispute
A Thai govt spokesperson suggested three alternatives for the border conflict resolution: 1) not allowing the people to live in the 4.6 km overlapping area 2) joint investment between Thailand and Cambodia to improve the area to become a tourist attraction by involving Thai and Cambodian people 3) holding talks to divide the 4.6 km overlapping area by setting clear border points.
Police Lieutenant General Wichianchot Sukchokrat revealed the alternatives in an interview, saying that although it will take time, bilateral negoitation is the best choice for Thailand, according to the News Center of Thai govt’s website. The article failed to report what role Wichianchot has in the border negotiation.
